In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a San Francisco, CA-based Virtual Visit provider is the the first to make it's program available nationwide to any and all Medicare recipients, and they are waiving the Dr. copay during this pandemic.
While Virtual Visits have been around for many years now, most Medicare recipients (either over 65 or those that qualify due to a disability) were more comfortable seeing a Dr. in person. However, the pandemic has changed this and forced many high-risk or older individuals to think twice about venturing out of their homes.
So how does it work? Medicare Recipients can use a web browser on their smart phone, tablet or computer to download the app from either the Apple store or Google Play. They need to register using a valid email, their Medicare ID, and a phone number. Medicare insureds can then access a board certified Dr. 24/7 for non-emergencies such as cold, flu, coughs, allergies, and filling ongoing medications for high blood pressure or diabetes.
This service is now available in 50 states. Read more here: Dr on DEmand available to Medicare Insureds
