Having a Child
Congratulations to you and your baby! You're euphoric!
And when you finally get over the rush, a sense of responsibility settles in. A baby is a big responsibility. There's nothing bigger.
When you begin thinking about your insurance needs now that you have a little one, you'll want to consider Homeowners Insurance and Life Insurance.
Life Insurance for Parents
What will your family do if something happens to you and your earning power is gone?
That question strikes at the core of a family unit.
And that's the question you'll answer when you consult with a life insurance specialist. In fact, the purpose of life insurance is to financially provide for the people who are financially dependent on you after you're gone.
CB Health Insurance can show you the best available life insurance options for parents and how to add beneficiaries to the policy. We want to help you ensure that your family will always be financially provided for in the event of an unfortunate loss.
Life Insurance for Your Baby
It may not surprise you to learn that life insurance is primarily designed for you and your spouse, to ensure that your dependents are always provided for. You might have even heard the following, " you probably don't need to buy life insurance for your baby. An appropriate life insurance policy for you and your spouse will make sure that your baby's needs are met."
WE DON' T AGREE!
Life insurance is based on your age and your health. The older you are, the higher the premium. The longer you wait to buy it, the more you will pay. The older you get the greater the chance that you will NOT qualify for the BEST rates - typically we aren't as thin or as healthy as we were when we were younger. Life insurance on a healthy baby is cheap and easy to qualify for - most of them are healthy! Only one problem:
Babies don't have any money to buy it - but their parents and grandparents do!
Most policies bought on children are PERMANENT insurance products that can be kept forever and ever, until they (the child) die, even if that is 100 years from now. Bought at a young age, some policies NEVER raise the rates ever again! And many will allow you to add a Purchase option so that when your child is grown up, getting married, and having children of their own, they have the option to buy insurance - no questions asked!
Think about the number of young children who are diagnosed with things like Allergies, Asthma, Autism, Diabetes, Heart Murmurs and unfortunately some even get cancer, leukemia and other rare diseases. Once diagnosed, some of these conditions are considered 'uninsurable' for life insurance. That means you couldn't buy life insurance on your child even if you wanted to!
But what if you buy it now...when your baby is young...and healthy... and qualifies...?
And what if you gave them the option to buy more insurance later in life, regardless of their health conditions?
We want to help you protect your baby in the best way possible. Contact CB Health Insurance today at 630-279-1739 and we will provide you with all of the latest life and homeowner insurance options for your new family!
Your paycheck is now more important than ever! In addition to paying all your regular bills (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, credit cards), you now have to buy diapers, formula, baby clothes - at each and every new size!- and more and more and more diapers! You or your wife or husband may be working less to stay home with your new bundle of joy. Your income and paycheck is tighter than ever...
What happens if you lose that paycheck due to an accident or illness? How will you continue to provide for your new family?
Disability insurance PAYS you an income when you are sick or hurt and cannot work. Prudent financial advisors recommend families to have at least 3 months income in the bank. Let's face it - most people can't go two weeks without a paycheck!
A disability insurance policy from CB Health Insurance will make sure your income continues in the event of a paycheck-stopping disability. And it wont' cost a fortune! Most people can buy a complete disability policy for as little as 2-5% of the income. If you only buy what you need - enough to cover the mortgage, utilities and diapers - it could cost less.
Which would you rather have? Job A - $50,000 salary; if disabled - $0 or Job B - $48,500 salary, if disabled $35,000.

Health Insurance for you AND your new Baby!
If you are lucky enough to work for an employer that provides group health insurance to you, it is easy to add your child. You will need to call the insurance company within 30 days of the birth - the child will be added - no questions asked! And under our new healthcare law, ANY insurance cannot exclude pre-existing conditions for children and children cannot be denied for coverage. This is good news!
If you have an individual policy with an insurance company, the same rules apply - call your insurance carrier within 30 days and add the child. Your new baby will be covered from the day he or she is born.
If you are without insurance coverage for you and your child, most health insurance companies want you to wait until after the 6 week well-baby checkup before applying for coverage.
Those parents below certain income levels may qualify for the state programs - state of Illinois offers coverage to children. For more information, visit All Kids IL .
For children deemed "uninsurable", the state of Illinois has a plan called ICHIP. For more information, visit the state site: ICHIP Insurance
